Good End To The Week

When I arrived at the Dam shortly before midday it was clear that the river was well up on the 7am Sepa reading of 1ft 7ins - and with the sun splitting the sky conditions were less than ideal. Just when it looked like it was going to be one of those days I thought I could see a rod bending further down the bank and sure enough it was "fish on". Soon after Russell Boyd skillfully brought a sparkling 8lber to the net - caught on Port-na-Craig bank on the fly - well done. A few club members ventured out in the evening and more success followed: Martin Wilson got into the action with a superb fish of 16lbs on the fly - again from Port-na-Craig bank on the fly; and Roger Collins opened his account with an 8lb fish from Pitlochry bank on the fly - good effort. With settled weather set to continue prospects for next week look excellent.
