| Willie on his 90th birthday yesterday |
Congratulations to Willie MacGregor who had his 90th birthday yesterday. Willie was the Atholl Estates ghillie for many years and many of our anglers will have met him on their Lower Tummel Beat, which Pitlochry AC used to have salmon fishing on for some of the season. The beat is also included in our River Tummel trout and grayling fishing. Willie looked by frequently to offer advice and encouragement to those fishing. His carefully placed sticks and stones marking the hot spots often brought success to our anglers. More recently, Willie has played an active role in the
campaign to rewater the upper Perthshire Garry (which is very heavily abstracted above Calvine for hydro-electric purposes) and allow salmon into it again.
